A Good Day

My final blog for 2020. The blogs I have been receiving in my inbox have all been looking back at the year that was.

This short video is a reminder to look at this day. It was written by filmmaker Louie Schwartzberg and narrated by Brother David Steindl-Rast. It is a GOOD DAY, if you open your eyes, open your heart, open your imagination.  I wish you a GOOD DAY today and every day.

  5. This is an amazing message about cherishing each day as a gift. Look up at the sky delights me with what I see. Seeing Saturn and Venus intersect — how grateful that we were able to see this in our life time. Gifts. I grew up on a farm. We lived closely with nature that told us when crops were ready. To see sun dogs in the sky – meaning a weather change, or a ring around the moon, or mare’s tails in the sky. Look up and look around to appreciate each day. Happy New Year Wendy — thanks for this beautiful blog as your last one for the year. What a positive way to bid farewell to 2020

  7. I enjoyed this so much. What a beautiful reminder of the gifts we receive each day if we are looking for them.
As a photographer, this presentation truly resounded in me. I will be looking for beauty behind the lens today.
    Thank you, Wendy

  8. This was lovely but…
For those of us who have lost our loved ones, our home, our job, had family and friends walk away, have severe health problems and too many other issues to note, it is so difficult to be grateful. We live with sadness, loneliness, fear and hopeless each and every day. We get up each morning to celebrate another day but lose track of everything when reality snacks us in the face. Where will we live, how will we survive, who actually cares about people like us? It is extremely difficult to be grateful for anything. Yet we soldier on; we stay busy quarantined together (The Three Musketeers), hoping that we make it through today, helping others, trying to make a difference and finding something of beauty each day. Gratitude to us means being kind to others and returning kindness; leaving the world a better place by doing the right thing; being a good human being. Being grateful is difficult when you have lost almost everyone you cared about and everything to keep you alive. We are grateful we have each other because sometimes we feel that our love for each other is all we have.

  9. What a beautiful way to start the new year Wendy. Thank you for sharing this lovely video. For those who have lost loved ones, possessions and faith in 2020, try to find one good thing each day and hold it in your heart. I hope it will give you resilience and faith that each day will bring a treasure to hold onto and soon there will be many. Hold your loved ones close and believe the Universe has a better plan for you if you can maintain trust. God bless you and everyone today, a new day and first of a new chapter for the world. Welcome 2021.

  10. Thank you for sharing this beautiful reminder that Today is a Gift, and each day is with whatever we might be facing. I have found that pivoting to those positives raises me up and refocuses me so that it helps change my mood. Nature and noticing all around changes perspective. I look forward to better tomorrow’s but am grateful for the present.
