My vision for Hey, Boomer™ is to build a safe place where people come to learn, to grow, to be inspired, while also making the world a better place for themselves and for future generations.

This idea came to me during the beginning of our staying in our homes because of the Coronavirus. I had been laid off from my job and I know how difficult it is to find meaningful work after a certain age.

I was thinking about other people from my generation who still have so much to offer and who still want to be relevant contributors to society. And the idea came to me, that maybe, during this time when we were all missing connection, we could connect on Hey, Boomer™.

I came across the “life Purpose” statement I wrote back in 2012, when working with a coach. It is so cool how it applies to what I want to accomplish with Hey, Boomer™. I wrote that my Life Purpose is to make a difference, have an impact and empower others. And with that, Hey, Boomer™ was born.

I have spent a lifetime of reinvention. I have a degree in Computer Science from UNC-Asheville, which I got as a single parent. I have been a computer programmer, a technical trainer, the leader of a US Expertise Center. Then I transitioned into Management and Leadership development with a Certificate in Change Leadership from Georgetown University. I developed onboarding programs, worked with managers on their leadership skills. In 2013, I was Certified as a Professional Coach through iPEC (Institute of Professional Excellence in Coaching) and as an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

I know what my purpose is, my reason to get up every morning. It is to provide inspiration and encouragement to Boomers and Beyond to believe that living your best life is possible, even as we age!

I want you to take away from my shows, blogs and coaching that you are not alone. Connection and community are essential.
