My Approach to Coaching

Closing the Gap Between Where You Are Today and the Life You Still Want to Live

Some days move slowly now. You wake up without a schedule, without the structure or sense of purpose you once had. What felt like freedom at first has quietly become boredom, low energy, and a lingering sense of What am I supposed to do now?

This isn’t the retirement you expected, and it’s not your fault.
You’re simply in a transition; one no one prepared you for.

Coaching gives you a supportive space to sort through these changes, reconnect with yourself, and rediscover what brings you energy, meaning, and direction. Together, we close the gap between the life you’re living today and the life you want to step into.

My Process step by step

STEP 01

Getting to Know Each Other

We talk about what you want, what you’ve tried, and your hopes for this next chapter.
You get a feel for my style, and together we decide if we’re a good match.

STEP 02

Finding Clarity

This is where the real exploration begins.
Depending on your needs, this step may take a few sessions or longer. We unpack the barriers to clarity;  the fears, expectations, stories, and habits that may be holding you back. I walk with you through this stage of self-discovery and empowerment, helping you reconnect with what matters most.

STEP 03

Creating Momentum

Once you begin to see your direction, we build an action plan together.
You’ll have clear goals and reasonable timetables. I support you, encourage you, and hold you accountable to what you say you want. If you hit resistance or challenges, we explore what’s getting in the way and adjust the plan with compassion.

STEP 04

Breakthroughs

This is where the magic often happens. Coaching brings light-bulb moments – sudden clarity about what’s been holding you back, or a surprising recognition of a passion or gift you’ve ignored for years. These breakthroughs are exciting and energizing, and they deepen your confidence in the path you’re creating.

STEP 05

Living with Intention

By this stage, you’re more engaged, more confident, and more connected to your life again. You’re moving with intention instead of drifting. Coaching can continue if you’d like it to, or this may be a natural place to move forward on your own with new clarity and momentum.

How can I help?

 Life Transitions Coaching

When you retire, everyone tells you to enjoy it. No more schedules. No more pressure.
Freedom at last, right?
And yet so many people quietly admit to feeling unsettled, disconnected, even invisible.
Here’s the truth: for years, your job, your roles, and your routines gave you a sense of purpose.
They told you who you were and why you mattered.
When those things fall away, it’s easy to feel like your compass is spinning.
But feeling this way doesn’t mean you’re broken.
It means you’re in transition – and that’s something we can work with. In fact, this in-between time is full of possibility. You just need the right tools and support to uncover what’s next.

In Life Transitions Coaching we will explore

  • Why purpose feels out of reach now (and how to shift that)
  • How to uncover what lights you up again
  • Small actions that lead to big meaning
  • Create a Next Chapter Blueprint that reflects what you want
  • And most importantly—why you still matter.

A 30-minute complimentary call will give us both an opportunity to learn more about each other, and how I can help and support you through this transition.
It may be challenging, but the growth you will experience is worth it!

Purpose & Passion Discovery

Let’s be honest – the word “purpose” can feel heavy.

You may picture it as some big, bold mission… Start a nonprofit! Write a memoir! Change the world! But here’s a truth that might bring you some relief:
Purpose doesn’t have to be grand. It just has to feel meaningful to you.
It might look like:

  • Being the go-to friend who listens
  • Volunteering a few hours a week
  • Tending a garden that brings you peace
  • Sharing your stories with the next generation

Purpose is really about connection – to people, values, ideas, or passions that matter to you. It’s less about what you do and more about how it makes you feel.

So if you’ve been stuck thinking you need to “figure out” your one big calling – take a breath.
Chances are that your purpose is already quietly woven into your life.
You just haven’t given yourself permission to name it. I did a whole podcast about how your purpose can find you.
I will help you explore your life story and rediscover the things you may have put on hold that have been trying to be heard. We will mine for the riches in your story and in the process you will rediscover what lights you up, your passion and purpose.
A 30-minute complimentary call will give us both an opportunity to learn more about each other, and how I can help and support you through this transition.

“Wendy has a very effective and engaging bag of tricks to help you find your passion and strengths, which complement her instincts and emotional IQ. Through working with her I was able to determine the best way to focus my post retirement career search. So instead of anxiety, I am looking forward to easing out of my lifelong career in technology and hanging up my frequent flyer, guest, and renter status to do work I want to do when I want to do it! I would recommend her to anyone looking for their next career move!!”

“Wendy is a triple threat of a coach. First, she has the tools to help guide her clients through challenges, concerns, and opportunities. Second, she brings a peaceful, positive energy to each session that puts you at ease. Third, she has the professionalism and strength to keep her personal thoughts and agenda out of the conversation. The result, as a client, is a level of self-awareness and discovery that is nothing short of incredible.”

“Wendy is an excellent coach. She is very personable, yet has a knack for holding one accountable in a supportive way. I was surprised at how much I accomplished, both personally and professionally during our coaching engagement. I had gone through a period of massive change and loss and was feeling overwhelmed. Wendy helped me get back on track and accomplish many of the things I needed to complete and move forward. This included taking action on a number of items as well as taking some time for personal reflection and dealing with grief and loss. In the end, I felt a sense of achievement and pride with a new sense of energy and excitement about what comes next. I highly recommend Wendy as a corporate or life coach.”

“As a coach for the past 16 years, I have great appreciation for the role a coach fills and the benefits of having a coach when it comes to facing and overcoming challenges in both career and life. I decided to take on a new project that was out of my comfort zone, so I knew that having a coach would help me overcome the challenges of self-doubt and getting stuck as well as needing an objective perspective and someone to hold me accountable so that I could move forward. Wendy provided me with the coaching guidance I needed to overcome my personal challenges.”

“Wendy is a highly motivated and experienced coach. She first teaches the theory then makes the practical application very intuitive to implement. Wendy is the perfect professional to change your life. Assimilating into a new corporate culture as a corporate Vice President with Wendy’s coaching has given me the ability to impact the corporation and stun the management Team within my first 6 months. Thank you, Wendy!”

“I recently attended “Writing Your Next Best Chapter” conducted by Wendy Green and was greatly enriched by the experience.  Wendy led us through eight sessions which helped us to discover, create and plan our next important life chapter.  The exercises she used were insightful and highly useful, helping us to learn about ourselves and make meaningful plans.  I am extremely glad I took this course and read one of the suggested books she referenced.  I highly recommend this course to anyone looking into retirement.  It has helped me immensely. “

“Before I retired from 33 years in the Hospitality Industry, I contemplated what I might do afterwards.   I still felt physically able with a curious mind that was open to new possibilities.  Wendy Green had just started a consulting business with retirees trying to figure out their second act.  She asked me and a couple of other women to be her test group.

“We spent six weeks identifying our strongest  skills, interests, values and  positive traits.  I found out things I already knew about me, but also traits and abilities that had been dormant for awhile and might be useful going forward.  No longer wondering what I was going to do for the rest of my life,  I now fear that I won’t have time to pursue all of my interests.   When Wendy started “Boomer Banter”, it was a natural progression to what she started.  She has a passion for helping others navigate their next act.  I would recommend working with Wendy to find yours.”

“When I began this course with Wendy, I did not know where I was going from here.  My aging and responsibilities were so heavy.  As I began I quickly realized that I am approaching the next chapter of my life and there are lots of options. I learned more about myself and how I view my world.  I recommend to anyone who is afraid of life changes to give this wonderful course a chance. Wendy is a great coach and I have never felt so relieved and peaceful about what lies ahead whatever that might be.”

Philip W.

“Changes in life are inevitable.  Accepting those changes without fear and with a positive attitude can be a challenge.  Sometimes the question is, what do I do next?  As a coach Wendy Green has developed a workshop that helps  look at one-self and use those learning experiences to prepare for the next  chapter in life.  I have found it to be very useful.    Whether it is a career change,  preparing for retirement, or looking for that next opportunity, I highly recommend  Wendy as a coach to help prepare for those changes.”

Travis Morris

“Wendy was definitely supportive in my career transition. Her coaching and advice played an instrumental role in helping me to critically think and prepare as a professional.”

It’s never too late to rediscover what’s possible – your next chapter starts now.
